Key Takeaways
New Delhi, March 4 (NationPress) Arvind Kejriwal, the national Convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party and former Chief Minister of Delhi, joyfully celebrated Holi with senior party officials at the home of ex-Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Wednesday.
In his address to the press, Kejriwal expressed, "Heartfelt congratulations and warm wishes to all citizens of the country on the occasion of Holi. May this vibrant festival fill every life with joy and bless each family with happiness."
Commenting on recent judicial proceedings, he stated, "A significant injustice has been inflicted upon the Aam Aadmi Party and its leadership, yet the court has confirmed that the AAP is a fundamentally honest party, with all its leaders embodying integrity."
Kejriwal also criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party for permitting liquor shops to operate during Holi. He remarked, "This is truly regrettable. Traditionally, liquor shops in Delhi would remain closed on Holi to avoid public disturbances, but the BJP government has decided otherwise."
Describing the celebration as a "Kattar Imaandar Holi" (staunchly honest Holi), Sisodia emphasized that despite ongoing attempts to tarnish the party's reputation, no allegations have been substantiated.
“Even in a room filled with soot, the Aam Aadmi Party leaders have remained unblemished,” he noted, adding that this year’s Holi is dedicated to the ideals of honesty and integrity.
Accusing the BJP of negativity, Sisodia claimed that the party has wrongly associated this festive occasion with alcohol consumption.
"Holi has always represented a celebration of colors, unity, and harmony. In our culture, people come together to embrace one another and mend differences. Connecting it to alcohol is simply inappropriate," he stated.
Notable attendees included MLA and former Chief Minister Atishi Marlena and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh, along with numerous party activists who gathered in large numbers to revel in the festivities.
The atmosphere at Sisodia’s home was filled with vibrant colors, lively music, and festive joy, as supporters applied gulal to each other, exchanged greetings, and danced to rhythmic beats. The leaders joined in the celebrations, extending Holi wishes to the nation.
