New Delhi, July 18 (NationPress) Delhi's Minister for Food & Supplies, Industry, Forest & Environment, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, has launched a fierce criticism of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal, alleging significant corruption during his time as Chief Minister.
Speaking to reporters, Minister Sirsa asserted that the AAP leader is poised to become the longest-serving former Chief Minister behind Lalu Prasad of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) in jail.
His comments follow the recent actions by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), which has initiated money laundering investigations into three scams linked to AAP's administration.
Sirsa highlighted that the previous AAP administration's corruption is being revealed in various sectors including education, power, and health.
He remarked, “Even if trials occur daily, it might not suffice to address the corruption that occurred over 10 years of AAP governance.”
Moreover, Sirsa accused the AAP-led Punjab government of engaging in corrupt practices, asserting that these will soon come to light.
He charged that the AAP extorts funds from business owners, and those who oppose face threats or are victimized by criminal elements, claiming that the AAP government stages encounters with these criminals afterward.
The ED has filed Enforcement Case Information Reports (ECIRs), akin to FIRs, related to scams in hospital construction, CCTV installations, and shelter homes, amounting to ₹6,368 crore, although confirmation from the ED is pending.
In the hospital construction scandal, former health ministers and AAP leaders Saurabh Bhardwaj and Satyendar Jain have been implicated by the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) of Delhi.
Earlier today, during the Van Mahotsav event as part of Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Minister Sirsa planted a sapling at the PBD ground.
On Thursday, Chief Minister Gupta also accused the previous Kejriwal administration of financial misconduct linked to the 'Jai Bhim Mukhyamantri Pratibha Vikas Yojana'.
Additionally, Delhi Minister Ashish Sood alleged that Kejriwal misused public funds to purchase mobile phones costing as much as ₹1.63 lakh.
