Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 24 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan, delivered a powerful message to state government officials on Monday, urging them to steer clear of corrupt practices.

During the inauguration of ‘Revenue Day’ in the capital, he recognized officials for their outstanding contributions.

Vijayan emphasized the aspiration for Kerala to become a ‘Zero Corruption State’, despite it currently being the least corrupt state in India.

He acknowledged that a small fraction of government employees engage in corrupt activities and encouraged those aware of such misconduct to speak out.

Corruption must be eliminated; the greatest achievement for government employees is when citizens leave with a smile after resolving their issues,” stated Vijayan.

He urged all government workers to avoid seeking personal benefits and instead focus on societal upliftment. “All documentation related to new initiatives should be processed without any hidden agendas for commissions,” he added.

“It is crucial for government officials to ensure that citizens do not have to make repeated visits to offices, as this could give rise to suspicions of ulterior motives,” he remarked.

This strong message from Vijayan arises amidst criticisms from the Congress-led UDF and BJP, both accusing his administration of extensive corruption.

So far, these two major opposition parties have initiated multiple protests, leading to a tense atmosphere in the assembly, particularly regarding the approval of a brewery plant in Palakkad district, which the Congress labels as a corrupt arrangement.
