The DGP emphasized that police visibility would be increased in heavily populated areas such as railway stations, bus terminals, shopping centers, and places of worship.
“While the public should stay calm, they must remain vigilant. Any suspicious object or behavior should be reported immediately to 112,” he urged, encouraging citizens to fully support law enforcement efforts.
Shortly after the blast event at Delhi’s Red Fort, which resulted in eight deaths and many injuries, Prime Minister Narendra Modi contacted Home Minister Amit Shah for a situation update.
As per official sources, PM Modi has assessed the scenario closely.
The injured victims have been transported to LNJP Hospital.
Reports suggest that security alerts have been issued for Delhi, Mumbai, and Uttar Pradesh.
Areas in Old Delhi near the Red Fort are among the most densely populated in the region.
While the extent of the damage remains unclear, several fire engines have been dispatched to the scene.
Numerous reports and social media discussions are hinting at a possible terror motive; however, no official confirmation has been released yet.
Kerala’s security framework has been instructed to maintain a state of heightened alertness. Intelligence units have been tasked with reviewing recent alerts and collaborating closely with national agencies.
Kerala boasts four international airports; thus, security measures will also be intensified at ports and critical institutions such as various ISRO facilities in the state capital.
