Patna, Oct 16 (NationPress) Renowned Bhojpuri film star Khesari Lal Yadav and his spouse Chanda Yadav have officially joined the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Thursday, bolstering the party’s electoral push in Bihar under the guidance of Tejashwi Yadav.

Prior to their formal entry, political discussions in Bihar were rife with speculation regarding whether Chanda Yadav would be the one to contest in the upcoming Assembly elections.

However, recent updates suggest that it will be Khesari Lal Yadav himself, rather than his wife, who will take the plunge into politics on an RJD platform.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding their candidacy, the fans of this Bhojpuri icon remain unfazed.

After welcoming the couple, Tejashwi Yadav reiterated a key electoral promise, stating, “We have assured the public that following November 14th, once we establish the government, we will implement legislation to provide a government job to one individual from every household that lacks one. This promise will be honored.”

Party insiders revealed that Chanda Yadav’s name was absent from the Bihar voter list during the review of her nomination documents.

Hailing from Dhanadih village in Ekma (Chhapra), her name was instead found on the Mumbai voter roll, presenting a technical hurdle to her candidacy.

Consequently, the RJD opted to nominate Khesari Lal Yadav at the last moment. Although he has yet to receive the party symbol, he is anticipated to submit his nomination as soon as it is allocated.

Addressing reporters post-induction, Khesari Lal Yadav expressed, “We have been aligned with Tejashwi for an extended period, and today we are excited about the opportunity to work alongside him. We will campaign vigorously throughout Bihar for the Grand Alliance.”

With immense popularity in the Bhojpuri film sector, Khesari Lal Yadav, who originates from Chhapra, is expected to galvanize the RJD’s campaign, particularly appealing to youth and rural voters.
