Lakshmi Parvathi Claims Naidu Lacks Ethical Authority to Lead TDP
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Hyderabad, March 29 (NationPress) Nandamuri Lakshmi Parvathi, General Secretary of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), voiced her strong opinion on Sunday, stating that the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, lacks the ethical authority to lead the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).
Lakshmi Parvathi, who is the second spouse of TDP's founder and late Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao (NTR), criticized Chandrababu Naidu for allegedly dismantling the core principles established by NTR.
During her press conference in Hyderabad, she accused Naidu of having betrayed NTR, claiming he has no right to even invoke his name.
She further alleged that TDP leaders were engaging in theatrics on the occasion of Party Formation Day while neglecting the foundational ideals of NTR.
According to her, Naidu is leading the TDP devoid of any moral compass and has tarnished NTR's legacy.
Lakshmi Parvathi referred to Naidu as a 'credit chori' leader, stating that he not only usurped the party but also abandoned its core ideology and vision for public welfare.
She accused the Chief Minister of eroding discipline and ethical standards within the TDP, transforming it into a party that relies on opportunistic alliances.
Additionally, she condemned Naidu for forsaking 'pro-poor' initiatives like the Rs 2-per-kg rice scheme, recalling how protests against rising electricity tariffs were met with violence.
She questioned the lack of action against TDP leaders implicated in various misconducts.
In comparing governance styles, the YSRCP General Secretary firmly asserted that Naidu falls short of matching the welfare and developmental framework established by former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Meanwhile, YSRCP MLC Mondithoka Arun Kumar echoed similar sentiments, stating that Naidu had backstabbed NTR to seize control of the TDP, disregarding his ideals and welfare programs.
Arun Kumar claimed that the TDP is entrenched in unethical political maneuvers, attributing the 'credit chori' syndrome directly to Naidu.
"The grand proclamations made on Formation Day are meaningless, as the public remembers Naidu's duplicitous tactics in seizing the TDP from NTR," Arun Kumar remarked.
He also highlighted that Naidu failed to recommend NTR’s name for the Bharat Ratna and created obstacles when Lakshmi Parvathi and YSRCP sought it.
"The 'credit chori' trend, which began with taking over the TDP from NTR, persists as Naidu adopts welfare schemes from YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, including Amma Vodi, Matsyakara Bharosa, among others. This 'credit chori' is evident in infrastructure projects ranging from data centers to green energy initiatives and the Bhogapuram airport," Arun Kumar emphasized.
"The father-son duo's claims about job creation are blatant falsehoods, and they should substantiate their statements by releasing a white paper with detailed information," concluded the YSRCP MLC, targeting both Chandrababu Naidu and Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh.
