Key Takeaways
Patna, April 3 (NationPress) RJD President Lalu Prasad Yadav has vehemently condemned the approval of the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, expressing sorrow that he was unable to be in Parliament to contest it.
The RJD shared Lalu Prasad Yadav's statement via his official X account on Thursday.
"I feel regret for not being in Parliament at this moment; otherwise, I would have been sufficient to challenge this Bill on my own,” stated Lalu Prasad Yadav.
He accused the BJP and RSS of attempting to seize Waqf properties, asserting that he has consistently fought to safeguard them through stringent legislation.
"The Sanghi (RSS)-BJP individuals aim to confiscate Muslim lands, but we have always enacted strict laws to shield Waqf properties,” he added.
Despite his absence from Parliament, Lalu Prasad Yadav reassured his supporters, stating: "Even though I am not in the House, you (BJP-RSS) are constantly in my thoughts, dreams, ideas, and concerns. It’s a positive aspect. My commitment, persistence, and adherence to my ideology, policies, and principles are the accumulated wealth of my life,” said Yadav.
Along with his statement, RJD released a video of Lalu Yadav's 2010 speech in Parliament, where he addressed Waqf laws.
This action aims to strengthen Lalu Prasad Yadav’s pledge to defend Waqf properties while challenging the arguments presented by the BJP.
Lalu Prasad Yadav is currently hospitalized at Delhi AIIMS after experiencing a health setback on Wednesday.
The RJD continues to critique the Central and Bihar governments regarding the bill.
"We have been opposing the Bill from the outset. The electorate of Bihar will hold them accountable in the upcoming assembly elections,” stated Tejashwi Yadav.
