Madhya Pradesh BJP to Honor Former PM Vajpayee's Centenary on December 25

Bhopal, Dec 24 (NationPress) The Madhya Pradesh unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to commemorate the 100th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee as 'Good Governance Day' by hosting a series of events across the state on Wednesday.
A significant celebration will take place in the Chhatarpur district of the Bundelkhand region, complemented by programs organized at every district and block office of the BJP, engaging local residents and party supporters throughout Madhya Pradesh.
The festivities will kick off with an exhibition showcasing Vajpayee's achievements at the BJP headquarters on Tuesday evening.
Madhya Pradesh Media In-charge Ashish Agrawal informed IANS that Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and state BJP Chief V. D. Sharma will be in attendance at the event.
The exhibition aims to spotlight Vajpayee's contributions from his early years to the BJP's rise in politics, illustrating the party's journey from merely two seats in 1984 to leading the government at the Center.
The main event in Chhatarpur will feature Prime Minister Narendra Modi laying the foundation stone for the Ken-Betwa river linking national project, which stands as the first interlinking of rivers initiative under the national perspective plan.
The state government has stated that the Ken-Betwa project will enhance irrigation facilities across various districts in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, benefiting thousands of farming families.
Additionally, the project will ensure drinking water availability for the local population.
During this occasion, PM Modi will also unveil a commemorative stamp and coin celebrating the centenary of former PM Vajpayee, who was born in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh—once part of the Scindia dynasty—on December 25, 1924.
Furthermore, PM Modi will inaugurate a floating solar project at Omkareshwar, located in Khandwa district, Madhya Pradesh.
This project is anticipated to contribute to lowering carbon emissions and support the government's mission to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2070.
Vajpayee's home state, Madhya Pradesh, significantly influenced his political journey, as he was elected to the Lok Sabha twice (1971 from Gwalior and 1991 from Vidisha) representing the state.
The former Prime Minister passed away on August 16, 2018, in New Delhi.
