Prime Minister Modi Set to Launch Key Development Initiatives in Madhya Pradesh Tomorrow

Bhopal, Dec 24 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to arrive in Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday to inaugurate and lay the foundation for a series of development projects, prominently featuring the Ken-Betwa river interlinking project.

This initiative will be launched on the occasion of the 100th birth anniversary of the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who envisioned this ambitious project during his time in office.

The Prime Minister is expected to land at Khajuraho airport at 1 p.m. before proceeding to Chhatarpur to commence the foundation laying for the Ken-Betwa project, aimed at enhancing the Bundelkhand region.

PM Modi will officially initiate the Ken-Betwa river linking national project, recognized as the first of its kind under the national perspective plan.

This project is anticipated to offer irrigation provisions to numerous districts in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, benefiting countless farming families. Additionally, it will facilitate drinking water access, generate employment, and bolster the rural economy.

Furthermore, PM Modi will unveil a commemorative stamp and coin celebrating the 100th birth anniversary of former PM Vajpayee.

He will also lay the foundation for 1153 Atal Gram Sushasan buildings, which are expected to significantly enhance the operational efficiency and accountability of Gram Panchayats, thereby promoting effective governance at the grassroots level.

In alignment with his dedication to achieving energy independence and fostering renewable energy, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Omkareshwar Floating Solar Project in the Khandwa district. This initiative will help mitigate carbon emissions and support the government's goal of achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2070.

Preparations are nearing completion for PM Modi's visit, with Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, his cabinet members, and state BJP chief V. D. Sharma arriving in Chhatarpur this evening to oversee the arrangements.

Earlier this week, the state government hosted a significant event in Sagar, during which various projects, including the revitalized Lakha Banjara Lake, were inaugurated. The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami, was also in attendance.

It is noteworthy that the Ken-Betwa project will transfer surplus water from the Ken River in Madhya Pradesh to the Betwa River in Uttar Pradesh, aimed at irrigating the drought-stricken Bundelkhand region.

Previously, CM Yadav stated that the project would provide irrigation for over 8.1 lakh hectares in Madhya Pradesh's Bundelkhand region and an additional 2.5 lakh hectares in Uttar Pradesh. The beneficiaries will include the districts of Chhatarpur, Panna, Tikamgarh, Niwari, Sheopur, Damoh, Datia, Raisen, Vidisha, and Sagar.
