Mumbai, March 25 (NationPress) Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) member Anil Parab raised a pressing issue on Wednesday, calling for the Maharashtra government to clarify the status of Special Investigation Teams (SITs) formed during the last five legislative sessions. He urged the government to release a detailed white paper outlining the progress of these investigations.

During a discussion on the final week motion in the legislative council, Parab expressed concern about the lack of transparency regarding the SITs established in response to various demands from both the opposition and the ruling members throughout multiple sessions.

He stated, “While SITs have been established, when can we expect their reports? If these reports are not yet available, it is crucial for the government to take a definitive and transparent action by issuing a white paper on all SITs created over the last five sessions, including the current one.”

Parab emphasized that the white paper should provide information on all SITs, their present status, and the corresponding Action Taken Reports (ATR).

He remarked that if the government truly aims to uncover the truth and bring any misconduct to light, it should accept this demand. He pointed out that this marks the fifth session of the legislature, during which various issues have been raised by the opposition and occasionally by members of the treasury benches.

In response to these calls for accountability, the government announced the establishment of SITs in several cases to investigate various matters. However, he raised the question of what progress has been made regarding these SITs.

Parab highlighted that each SIT is required to submit an Action Taken Report (ATR), yet no such reports have been submitted to the legislature during the last five sessions.

He concluded by saying that the government should disclose how many SITs have been formed, what conclusions they have reached, and their respective Action Taken Reports.
