The Chief Minister mentioned that comprehensive plans for cow protection have already been devised statewide.
He elaborated that the foundation stone for a new Goshala (cow shelter) has been laid in N.K. Palli, which is set to feature modern amenities on a sprawling site.
Additionally, he revealed plans for establishing more Goshalas in several regions, especially near temples.
According to the Chief Minister’s Office, Maneka Gandhi expressed her approval of the government's animal welfare policies and praised the initiatives taken by the state.
The meeting was attended by Minister for Industries and Information Technology Sridhar Babu, Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner R. V. Karnan, Cyberabad Municipal Corporation Commissioner Gummalla Srijana, Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation Commissioner Vinay Krishna Reddy, along with senior officials.
On Saturday, Maneka Gandhi, who serves as the chief patron of the Greater Hyderabad Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (GHSPCA), inaugurated a new animal ambulance and initiated a donation program.
She also inspected the progress of the multi-speciality animal hospital and shelter being constructed at Begum Bazaar.
During her visit, she stated that the long-awaited construction would soon reach completion, expressing optimism about the hospital’s future. She noted that after a 27-year wait, the facility is finally approaching its final stages.
