A police representative disclosed that the Manipur Police, with assistance from Assam Police, captured a militant associated with the People’s Liberation Army and its affiliate, the Revolutionary People's Front, in Rupnagar, Hojai district, Assam.
The apprehended militant, identified as Hodam Romen Singh alias Naobi, aged 39, hails from Kamranga in Jiribam, near southern Assam. He was known as an extortionist for the Revolutionary People's Front/People’s Liberation Army and is also a co-accused in a case filed at the Jiribam police station.
In a separate operation, security forces arrested two individuals from Hiyanglam Awang Leikai in Lilong village, Thoubal district, who were reportedly collaborating with the Kangleipak Communist Party militant group. The detained militants, Elangbam Surjit Singh and Maibam Ronaldo, were found with a service pistol and ten 9 mm cartridges.
Furthermore, security forces eliminated four bunkers located in the Mongkot Chepu area under the jurisdiction of Litan police station in Ukhrul district, recovering thirty-five empty cartridges in the process.

The confiscated items included five homemade bolt-action single barrels, three pump-action shotguns, one 36-hand grenade, two live 7.62 mm rounds, fifty empty cartridges of varying calibres, and two radio sets along with a charger.
Security forces, comprising both central and state units, are actively engaging in extensive crackdowns on militant activities. Ongoing search operations and area control exercises are being conducted in fringe, mixed-population, and other vulnerable locales across several districts.
To bolster surveillance and thwart the movement of unlawful elements, a total of 114 checkpoints have been established throughout both the valley and hill districts of the state.
Additionally, security forces are providing escorts for vehicles, including trucks carrying essential goods, along the Imphal-Jiribam National Highway (NH-37). Stringent security measures and convoy protection are enforced along sensitive routes to ensure safe traffic movement.
