Will Maoists Find No Respite Even in the Monsoon?

Raipur, June 22 (NationPress) Union Home Minister Amit Shah emphasized the government's determination to eliminate Maoism by March 31 of the upcoming year, asserting that the rebels will not receive any reprieve during the monsoon season. Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for the National Forensic Science University (NFSU) and the Central Forensic Science Laboratory in Raipur, HM Shah stated, “Unlike previous years, when anti-Maoist operations would slow during the rains, I assure the populace that we will keep the pressure on the rebels even during the monsoon.”

He commended Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Deputy Vijay Sharma for their intensified efforts against Maoism in the state. “They have motivated law enforcement, and I extend my congratulations to them on behalf of the Central government,” he remarked.

The Home Minister urged the Maoists to surrender and reintegrate into society by taking advantage of the state’s rehabilitation program. “I promise all rebels who choose to surrender that the Central and State governments will honor their commitments to you,” he stated.

Previously, he encouraged the youth of Chhattisgarh to embrace entrepreneurship and establish startups to ignite a fresh wave of investment in the region. He announced the launch of the ‘Mind-to-Market’ i-Hub incubation initiative, claiming it would support aspiring startup founders and empower youth to become owners of MSMEs.

HM Shah attributed the formation of Chhattisgarh to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for shaping the contemporary state.

During the inauguration event, he highlighted that Sunday was a pivotal day as three major projects affecting the state's criminal justice system were being initiated. “The foundation stone for NFSU and CFSL is being laid, alongside the launch of the university’s transit campus, where 180 students will commence their studies in programs such as B.Sc and M.Sc in cyber and forensic science,” he noted.

“I want the youth to place their trust in PM Modi and realize that their degree from NFSU will serve as a job guarantee,” he added.

The NFSU campus is proposed to be constructed at a cost of ₹145 crores, while the CFSL will be established at ₹123 crores. HM Shah remarked that PM Modi’s vision for Viksit Bharat 2047 cannot be realized without effective justice delivery, and the three new criminal laws—Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023—set to take effect on July 1, 2024, are steps toward that goal.

He stated that the establishment of a forensic university and laboratory is a move towards timely justice and an evidence-based criminal justice system wherein verdicts are delivered within three years.
