Bengaluru, Jan 5 (NationPress) A shocking incident has emerged from the Madiwala police precinct in Bengaluru, where a minor boy was allegedly caught filming women in a washroom. Authorities reported on Monday that the juvenile has been taken into custody, while efforts are underway to locate another minor believed to be involved.

The event transpired on January 4 at approximately 9:30 p.m. at the Sandhya Cinema Theatre in Bengaluru.

According to a police announcement made on Monday, “On January 4 at around 9:30 p.m., following a notification from the ‘Namma 112’ helpline regarding a disturbance at Sandhya Cinema Theatre, officers from the Hoysala patrol and staff from Madiwala Police Station promptly arrived at the scene to manage the situation.”

“Witnesses reported that a juvenile boy was allegedly recording videos inside the women’s washroom of Sandhya Cinema Theatre and was confronted by female visitors. The police intervened and safely extracted the juvenile in conflict with the law from the crowd, taking him to the police station.”

The police confirmed that another suspect was also interrogated. The crowd was calmed and dispersed. Following a formal complaint from female patrons, the juvenile in conflict with the law and his mobile device were seized for further examination. Additionally, the management of Sandhya Cinema Theatre is under investigation.

Authorities are actively seeking the other suspect, who remains at large, and the investigation continues, according to police reports.

This incident comes amid a series of alarming occurrences in Bengaluru that have incited public outrage. In a related case, a 19-year-old man named Hussain from Kothanur was arrested for allegedly surreptitiously recording women in public areas like MG Road and Brigade Road, subsequently posting these videos on an Instagram account called ‘Dilbar Jaani-64’, falsely claiming to showcase nightlife. The videos were reportedly captured without the consent of the women involved.

In another disturbing incident, Maroof Sharif was apprehended by Govindapura police for allegedly sexually harassing a woman in broad daylight while she was en route to a nearby shop. The victim managed to escape and reported the incident to law enforcement.

Moreover, a staff member from a sweet shop in Bengaluru was arrested for allegedly recording a woman inside a washroom. The 25-year-old victim, an employee of a private firm, had visited a renowned sweets shop on Koramangala 60 Feet Road to use the washroom around 8 p.m. on April 25, 2025. This incident was reported within the jurisdiction of Koramangala police station.

In a separate case, Swapnil Nagesh Mali, a 30-year-old senior associate consultant at Infosys, was arrested on June 30, 2025, for allegedly filming one of his female colleagues in their office washroom without her knowledge. During questioning, he reportedly confessed to deriving satisfaction from watching such footage and had over 50 clips stored on his device.

The victim recounted to police that on June 30, 2025, at approximately 11 a.m., she entered the washroom. While using the facilities, she noticed a reflection on the cubicle door and observed someone attempting to pull an object from the adjacent stall.

Upon stepping out, she noticed another woman leaving one of the cubicles. When she returned to her own stall, climbed onto the commode, and looked over, she allegedly spotted the accused standing on the commode in the nearby cubicle and recording her. This confrontation led to his arrest.
