Bhopal/Indore, May 20 (NationPress) Madhya Pradesh Urban Development Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya announced on Tuesday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address a gathering of approximately 200,000 women in Bhopal on May 31, coinciding with the 300th birth anniversary of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, the esteemed queen of Malwa.
This grand event, dubbed the 'women empowerment programme', will take place at Jamboori Maidan in Bhopal.
Minister Vijayvargiya stated that the initiative is being organized by the state's Cultural department.
During a press briefing following a cabinet meeting in Indore, Vijayvargiya remarked, "PM Modi will engage in the women empowerment programme and women's conference on the momentous occasion of the 300th birth anniversary of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar."
Participants will include women from self-help groups, beneficiaries of the Ladli Behna Yojana, entrepreneurs, and other sectors from across Madhya Pradesh.
On the same day, during his visit to Bhopal, PM Modi will inaugurate the initial phase of the Indore Metro Rail project and will connect via video conferencing to Datia and Satna airports, as mentioned by the Minister.
The first phase of the metro project, extending 5.9 kilometers, will facilitate metro services between Gandhi Nagar and station No. 3 of the Super Corridor in Indore, the commercial hub of Madhya Pradesh.
The foundation stone for the Rs 7,500.80-crore metro rail project was laid on September 14, 2019, and aims to create a metro network spanning about 31.5 kilometers.
The newly established Datia airport has received approval as a public airport under the 3C/VFR category, marking it as the eighth public airport in Madhya Pradesh available for public use.
Before September 2024, Madhya Pradesh had five licensed airports for public use: Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Khajuraho, and Gwalior.
The upgraded Satna Airport will operate under Visual Flight Rules (VFR), equipped with modern navigation and security systems.
