This significant event is being organized to celebrate the 300th birth anniversary of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, the esteemed queen of Malwa. An attendance of over 2 lakh women, representing various sectors from across Madhya Pradesh, is anticipated.
During the inspection, Bhopal district collector Kaushlendra Vikram Singh provided an update to the Chief Minister regarding the ongoing preparations, particularly concerning entry and exit gates as well as seating arrangements for the attendees.
The Chief Minister also issued essential directives to officials regarding the event preparations.
This visit will mark PM Modi’s inaugural trip to Madhya Pradesh following Operation Sindoor, executed by the Indian armed forces to dismantle terrorist camps in PoK and Pakistan in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack.
In 2021, from the same Jamboori Maidan, located near Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), PM Modi addressed a significant rally for tribal communities and announced more than a dozen tribal-focused initiatives on the occasion of legendary freedom fighter Birsa Munda’s birth anniversary.
This time, the focus will be on women empowerment, as the Madhya Pradesh government plans to unveil numerous women-centric initiatives, spotlight existing beneficiary schemes for women, and showcase achievements from the past year and a half under Mohan Yadav's administration.
The event has been designated as the ‘Women Empowerment Programme’.
“PM Modi will engage in the women empowerment programme and women’s conference on May 31, coinciding with the 300th birth anniversary of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar,” senior minister Kailash Vijayvargiya informed the media on Tuesday.
During his one-day visit to Bhopal, PM Modi will also launch the first phase of the Indore Metro Rail project and inaugurate Datia and Satna airports via video conferencing on May 31.
Under the 5.9-km-long initial phase of the project, metro services will operate between Gandhi Nagar and Station No. 3 of the Super Corridor in Indore, the commercial hub of Madhya Pradesh.
