Bhopal, May 19 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is anticipated to arrive in Madhya Pradesh on May 31 to engage in a significant event focused on women's empowerment, emphasizing the illustrious legacy of Ahilyabai Holkar, renowned for her progressive governance and social reforms.

During his visit to Bhopal, the Prime Minister is expected to virtually launch the Indore Metro, which will commence operations between Gandhi Nagar and Station Number 3 on the “Priority Corridor,” though the date for its official launch remains undetermined.

The Madhya Pradesh government is already gearing up for extensive celebrations on May 31, marking the 300th birth anniversary of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, a revered ruler in Indian history.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav convened a high-level meeting on Monday to assess the preparations for the Prime Minister’s visit and issued essential directives.

The Chief Minister’s office has shared updates via social media, confirming that the event will be held at Samatva Bhavan in Bhopal. A post on X stated, “Chief Minister Dr. Yadav reviewed the preparations for the anticipated arrival of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji in Bhopal on May 31 at Samatva Bhavan and provided necessary guidelines.”

For the first time in several years, Madhya Pradesh will host its cabinet meeting in Indore at the magnificent Rajwada, the historical seat of the Holkar dynasty. The program will showcase various initiatives from both the central and state governments aimed at uplifting women, reflecting Ahilyabai’s commitment to justice, welfare, and inclusivity.

Ahilyabai Holkar ruled the Malwa kingdom from 1767 to 1795 and is celebrated for her exceptional leadership. She led military campaigns, supported widow remarriage, and played a pivotal role in the construction and preservation of sacred sites across India.

The Bharatiya Janata Party has initiated a state-wide campaign from May 21 to May 31 to honor Ahilyabai’s contributions. Party leaders and members will interact with the public, discussing her visionary governance, social reforms, and cultural revival. The campaign will highlight Ahilyabai’s legacy as a ruler who promoted inclusive development and religious harmony, alongside the government’s commitment to preserving heritage while fostering progress.
