Key Takeaways
Lucknow, Dec 21 (NationPress) Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak revealed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Lucknow on December 25 to officially open the Rashtriya Prerna Sthal, a national site dedicated to the inspiration of prominent Indian leaders such as Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, and Syama Prasad Mukherjee.
During this visit, a grand statue of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee will also be unveiled, paying homage to the legacy of the former Prime Minister.
In a statement to the media, Pathak noted, “On the birth anniversary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, PM Modi will inaugurate the Rashtriya Prerna Sthal, where a large statue of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee will be unveiled.” The Deputy Chief Minister stressed that this park serves not only as a tribute to national figures but also symbolizes the civic transformation occurring within the city.
Earlier this week, Uttar Pradesh Urban Development Minister A.K. Sharma and Lucknow Mayor Sushma Kharakwal inspected the site, acknowledging the extensive work carried out to reclaim the area.
Sharma pointed out that the park covers approximately 80-85 acres, a significant portion of which was previously overrun by a massive garbage dump, leading to serious sanitation and environmental problems.
“Just three years ago, over one-third of this land was engulfed by a huge garbage dump, which caused considerable distress for those traversing the area,” Sharma remarked.
He further explained that around 6.5 lakh metric tonnes of waste were cleared, reclaiming 32 acres of land, transforming a once-neglected and foul-smelling space into a vast national inspirational park.
The Rashtriya Prerna Sthal has been designed to offer a peaceful and motivating environment for visitors while honoring India’s distinguished leaders. The initiative represents a fusion of heritage conservation and urban redevelopment, aiming to inspire both citizens and guests.
Officials noted that the park includes beautifully landscaped gardens, pathways, and statues that celebrate the contributions of these leaders. The inauguration by the Prime Minister on December 25 is expected to attract nationwide attention and showcase Uttar Pradesh’s commitment to creating spaces that merge historical remembrance with civic pride.
