Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Dec 24 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to travel to Uttar Pradesh on Thursday (December 25) to commemorate the 101st birth anniversary of the late Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna awardee Atal Bihari Vajpayee. During this visit, he will officially open the Rashtra Prerna Sthal in Lucknow.
The inauguration ceremony is scheduled for approximately 2:30 p.m., with the Prime Minister also addressing the public at the event, as per reports from officials.
In alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision to celebrate the contributions of prominent figures in independent India, the Rashtra Prerna Sthal is designed to be a tribute to the life, values, and lasting influence of one of the nation's most esteemed leaders, who significantly shaped the democratic, political, and developmental landscape of India.
The Rashtra Prerna Sthal will stand as a national memorial and a source of inspiration, embodying enduring national significance.
This complex, developed at an estimated cost of Rs 230 crore and spanning approximately 65 acres, aims to be a lasting national resource that promotes leadership principles, national commitment, cultural awareness, and public motivation.
Among its features are towering bronze statues, each standing 65 feet tall, of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, and Atal Bihari Vajpayee, which represent their vital roles in shaping India's political ideology, nation-building, and civic engagement.
The site also includes a cutting-edge museum, designed as a lotus-shaped structure covering around 98,000 square feet.
This museum narrates India's historical journey and highlights the contributions of these visionary leaders through advanced digital and immersive technologies, ensuring an engaging and educational visit for all.
Previously, Uttar Pradesh Urban Development Minister A.K. Sharma and Lucknow Mayor Sushma Kharakwal reviewed the location, acknowledging the extensive work undertaken to rehabilitate the area.
Sharma pointed out that the park encompasses around 80-85 acres, much of which was formerly a vast garbage dump that posed significant sanitation and environmental challenges.
"Up until three years ago, over a third of this land was engulfed by a massive garbage dump, which created serious inconveniences for those passing through the vicinity," Sharma remarked.
He further noted that approximately 6.5 lakh metric tonnes of waste were cleared, reclaiming 32 acres of land and transforming what was once a neglected and odorous space into a sprawling national inspiration park.
The inauguration of the Rashtra Prerna Sthal signifies a pivotal move towards upholding and promoting the principles of altruistic leadership and effective governance, anticipated to inspire both current and future generations.
