Bhopal, Sep 22 (NationPress) The government of Madhya Pradesh has successfully reached close to 5,000 MW of solar capacity by the year 2025, aiming to expand this to 33,000 MW by 2035, as announced by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Monday.

CM Yadav revealed that the state's energy capacity from various sources is on a rapid rise. He emphasized that the state government is committed to promoting solar energy through attractive incentives available for all.

During a virtual address at an event held in New Delhi, which was attended by Union Minister for Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi, Maldives Minister of State for Environment & Tourism Muviath Mohammed, CII office-bearers, and industry representatives, the Chief Minister shared this significant update.

Highlighting major solar initiatives in the state, particularly India’s largest solar park located in Rewa, which powers the Delhi Metro, the Chief Minister stated that Madhya Pradesh is on track to emerge as a leading state in the nation’s energy landscape.

“Sanchi has been developed as India’s first Solar City, while Omkareshwar is home to the country’s largest floating solar project. Additionally, India's largest Pump Hydro Power Storage Project has been established in Neemuch, positioning Madhya Pradesh as a leader in energy storage capabilities,” Yadav asserted.

He also mentioned the launch of the Morena Solar-Plus-Storage project, which marks a new milestone in renewable energy, being India’s first project to deliver stable, dispatchable renewable power at a record-low tariff of Rs 2.70 per unit.

The Chief Minister further highlighted initiatives like the Green Hydrogen Mission, PM-KUSUM Yojana, PM Surya, and Smart Grid programs that have advanced the energy sector towards self-reliance, sustainability, and cleanliness, benefiting millions with free electricity.

He stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has made remarkable strides in the energy sector, establishing itself as a global hub for clean energy technologies.

“With PM Modi at the helm, India is steadfastly moving towards achieving net zero. Madhya Pradesh is poised to lead globally in a clean energy future in the coming years,” CM Yadav added.

He concluded by asserting that while realizing the vision of Make in India and Viksit Bharat, a robust foundation is being established for a secure, capable, and guiding India. The country is making its mark across various sectors, including energy and renewable energy, textiles, IT, agriculture, pharma, defense, and space.
