Bhopal, November 10 (NationPress) The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet, under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, has approved a proposal to raise the monthly installment of the 'Ladli Behna Yojana' to Rs 1,500 starting this month.
This decision, made during a Cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Yadav, demonstrates the state government's ongoing commitment to empowering women and providing support to the agricultural sector through direct benefit transfers.
Madhya Pradesh’s Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Minister Chaitanya Kashyap informed the media that the Cabinet has agreed to an increase of Rs 250, raising the total monthly assistance to Rs 1,500 from November onward.
“Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will begin disbursing the monthly installment of the Ladli Behna Yojana to 1.26 crore beneficiaries starting November 12. From this month, each beneficiary will receive Rs 1,500 monthly,” Minister Kashyap stated.
Chief Minister Yadav had previously announced the enhancement of the monthly incentive to Rs 1,500 from November.
Earlier, he had declared an additional transfer of Rs 250 per beneficiary during Bhai Dooj, a festive occasion on October 23, but this could not be implemented at that time.
The Ladli Behna Yojana was initiated on June 10, 2023, in Jabalpur by the former Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led government of Madhya Pradesh.
This scheme is viewed as a significant contributor to the BJP's decisive victory in the 2023 state Assembly elections.
The program was first introduced with a monthly installment of Rs 1,000 for women beneficiaries known as 'Ladli Behna', which was later increased to Rs 1,250. Now, starting this month, the state government will provide Rs 1,500 monthly.
The state administration has plans to elevate the monthly installment of this scheme to Rs 3,000 by 2028, ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh.
