Murder Case of Fan: Renukaswamy's Father Optimistic About Supreme Court Challenging Darshan's Bail

Bengaluru, Dec 13 (NationPress) In response to the bail awarded to the Kannada actor and others implicated in a high-profile fan murder case, victim Renukaswamy's father, Kashinathaiah Shivanagoudar, stated on Friday that he firmly believes the bail granted to actor Darshan will face a challenge in the Supreme Court.
Speaking to reporters in Chitradurga, Kashinathaiah remarked: "I have complete confidence in the judicial system. I learned about the bail granted to Darshan, Pavithra Gowda, and the other defendants. I trust that after the court proceedings, justice will be served."
"Although the accused may have received temporary bail, I am assured that the judicial system will see that they are punished as they deserve," he added.
Kashinathaiah also urged the government to offer a job to his daughter-in-law, Sahana (Renukaswamy's wife).
"It is unlikely that Darshan will come to meet us. We have nothing to discuss with him. We are mourning the loss of my son, Renukaswamy. We want him back — we do not want any negotiations," he expressed with deep emotion.
"No one has reached out to us for negotiations so far, and we have no intention of discussing matters with Darshan. I will talk to my supporters about a meeting with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah," he added.
"The government challenged the temporary medical bail that was granted to Darshan in the Supreme Court. I am confident that the government will also contest the regular bail order in the Apex Court," he said.
"We will not pressure the Chief Minister or the government. We will explore our options," Kashinathaiah noted.
The Karnataka High Court granted bail on Friday to Kannada superstar Darshan and his partner Pavithra Gowda in connection with the Renukaswamy murder case.
The bench, led by Justice Vishwajith Shetty, also approved bail for accused individuals Nagaraju, Anukumar, M. Laxman, Jagadish, and Pradoosh Rao.
Senior counsel C.V. Nagesh represented Darshan, while Special Public Prosecutor (SPP) P. Prasanna Kumar advocated for the prosecution.
Gowda's attorney Shilpa stated that bail was granted based on arguments disputing her involvement in the case.
Currently detained in the Central Prison of Parappana Agrahara, located on the outskirts of Bengaluru, Gowda is expected to be released on Monday.
During discussions about the regular bail request, C.V. Nagesh countered the objections presented by the Special Public Prosecutor (SPP), asserting that while Renukaswamy's body reportedly exhibited 39 blood stains, there was only one significant injury.
Nagesh claimed that at every stage, from gathering eyewitness accounts to carrying out the investigation, the prosecution "lied".
"The bail was granted based on a report from doctors in Ballari. The doctors at BGS Hospital also acknowledged the Ballari doctors' report, which highlighted the necessity for surgery for the actor," he argued.
"We must proceed with the operation as advised by the doctors. It cannot be delayed by three or four weeks," he asserted.
Earlier, Special Public Prosecutor P. Prasanna Kumar informed the Karnataka High Court that Darshan was "misusing" the interim bail granted to him on medical grounds.
While submitting his objections to the court regarding the granting of regular bail, Prasanna Kumar stated that interim bail was requested citing urgency, and the court was informed that he was at risk of a stroke.
Prasanna Kumar further stated that dramatic situations are often created in Darshan's case.
Recently, the court extended Darshan's interim bail on medical grounds.
Darshan was released from custody on October 30 after serving 131 days in jail.
Admitted to BGS Apollo Hospital in Bengaluru, Darshan was being treated for severe back pain.
Darshan, his partner Gowda, and 15 others were arrested on June 11 on charges of kidnapping and brutally murdering his fan Renukaswamy from Chitradurga.
Renukaswamy had reportedly sent derogatory and obscene messages to Pavithra Gowda after being upset with the actor for having a relationship with her despite being married.
