Did NDA Leaders Justly Criticize RJD MP Surendra Prasad Yadav Over Abusive Remarks?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Patna, Jan 12 (NationPress) Just a day after a video surfaced allegedly showing Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Lok Sabha MP Surendra Prasad Yadav using derogatory language towards voters, members of the NDA expressed strong disapproval. They labeled the incident as shameful, indicating a concerning reflection of the party’s political ethos.
Neeraj Kumar, an MLC from Janata Dal (United), criticized Surendra Yadav, asserting that this occurrence reveals the arrogance and character of RJD leaders.
“Just look at his arrogance. Surendra Yadav held the Belaganj Assembly seat for 35 years, but a widow, Manorma Devi, defeated his son first in a bye-election and again in the 2025 Assembly elections. After such a humiliating defeat, he resorts to abusing people. This is utterly condemnable,” remarked Neeraj Kumar.
BJP MLA and Bihar Agriculture Minister Ramkripal Yadav also condemned the incident, demanding accountability from RJD’s leadership.
“The RJD faced a dismal electoral defeat, and now its leaders are responding by hurling insults at voters, including members of the Yadav community—traditionally their supporters. If this community distances itself, RJD might only secure five seats in Bihar,” stated Ramkripal Yadav.
Surendra Prasad Yadav, the MP from Jehanabad, is featured in a viral video allegedly using offensive language towards those who did not support his party.
The incident reportedly took place during his visit to the area on January 11, following the RJD’s significant loss in the Assembly elections within his constituency.
Local residents confronted the MP about the region's lack of development. Angered by their inquiries, Surendra Yadav reportedly lost his composure and began to insult those present.
In the footage, he can be heard stating, “We received only 15,000 votes from here. What can we do in such circumstances?”
He further names individuals and uses vulgar language towards them.
At another juncture, he mentions, “Everyone votes for her. Even the village head supports her. What can we do here? Nobody voted for us.”
The MP concludes the interaction by saying, “We’ll see next time,” to which some attendees respond, “Okay.”
Currently, there has been no formal response from Surendra Prasad Yadav or RJD leadership regarding this incident.
