New Delhi, March 21 (NationPress) In a pointed reaction to the uproar regarding Nitish Kumar's conduct during the National Anthem, RJD MLA Ranvijay Sahu criticized the Chief Minister on Friday, labeling his actions as a shame for both the state and the nation.

The RJD organized a protest in the Bihar Assembly, demanding accountability for what they deemed as a disrespect towards the National Anthem.

In an interview with IANS, Sahu stated, "Bihar is ashamed, Bihar is embarrassed. The Chief Minister's behavior during the National Anthem has brought disgrace to Bihar and the nation. The whole country is questioning, where is the Prime Minister? Your esteemed Chief Minister has insulted the National Anthem. The farmers and laborers of Bihar are inquiring, when will you act against him?"

"We, the Grand Alliance partners, are demanding action against Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Bihar is questioning his actions, and this is intolerable," he continued.

Sahu further expressed his discontent, saying, "Tejashwi Yadav, who has always advocated for the oppressed and marginalized, is fighting for the people of Bihar. We will not abandon Bihar in such a condition. With the slogan ‘Change Bihar,’ we will strive to transform Bihar. We will ensure that Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition, becomes the Chief Minister of Bihar."

Commenting on Nitish Kumar's behavior, Sahu humorously suggested, "At this point, he seems to require treatment at a mental institution. If NDA leaders won't take him to a hospital, the Grand Alliance will raise funds to send him to a larger hospital for care."

Conversely, JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar dismissed the allegations, defending Nitish Kumar’s sense of patriotism.

In discussing the Chief Minister’s actions during the National Anthem, Kumar remarked, "Nitish Kumar is the offspring of a freedom fighter. He has institutionalized respect for freedom fighters in this nation. While most individuals receive identity cards based on lineage, Nitish Kumar was the first to issue identity cards to the families of freedom fighters in both Independent Bihar and India. His respect for the National Anthem is unquestionable."

Conflict escalated between the RJD and JD(U) after Tejashwi Yadav shared a video on social media platform X. The video depicts Chief Minister Nitish Kumar speaking and gesturing while the National Anthem was played.

Tejashwi posted on X, "At least please do not disrespect the National Anthem, Hon'ble Chief Minister. You offend youth, students, women, and elderly people daily. Sometimes they applaud on Mahatma Gandhi's martyrdom day and ridicule his sacrifice, and at other times they applaud during the National Anthem!"
