Key Takeaways
Bhopal, Jan 27 (NationPress) The construction of three new medical colleges in Budhni (Sehore district), Chhatarpur, and Damoh is approaching its final stages, with the institutions set to commence operations in the upcoming academic semester, as stated by Madhya Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla on Tuesday.
During a review meeting of the Public Health and Medical Education Department, Shukla emphasized that officials must finalize all outstanding infrastructure tasks, procure necessary furniture and equipment, and hire teaching and support personnel promptly to streamline the approval process from the National Medical Commission (NMC).
“The establishment of medical colleges in Budhni, Chhatarpur, and Damoh is nearing completion. Officials have been directed to initiate the NMC approval process, ensuring these institutions can operate by the next semester,” Shukla remarked in a statement.
At the meeting, the Deputy CM reviewed the hiring process for medical assistants and paramedical staff statewide. He underlined the importance of continuous monitoring of recruitments conducted via the Public Service Commission and the Staff Selection Board, urging officials to prioritize the completion of all formalities.
Shukla also called for a thorough assessment of existing recruitment models for specialist doctors, instructing that the necessary hiring procedures begin without delay.
“The timely placement of specialists is crucial for developing community health centers as primary referral units. This will enhance maternal and child health services and significantly reduce maternal and infant mortality rates,” he stated.
Additionally, Shukla reviewed plans for expanding advanced cancer treatment facilities at designated medical colleges, including those in Rewa, Gwalior, and Jabalpur, directing officials to ensure the timely completion of infrastructure and the availability of essential equipment.
While evaluating the implementation of the ‘CM Day Care Scheme’, Shukla instructed officials to prioritize and prepare proposals for Cabinet approval to ensure the effective execution of the scheme.
“The development of medical infrastructure should not suffer due to departmental negligence. All tasks must be completed within the designated timeframe to provide improved healthcare services to the public,” he added.
