Bhopal, Feb 24 (NationPress) The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids at various sites linked to individuals associated with CPI (Maoist) in Chhattisgarh on Monday, regarding the homicide of political figure Birju Ram Taram.
The NIA teams thoroughly searched six locations in the Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki district, which shares a border with Maharashtra.
During these operations, they confiscated mobile devices, laptops, printers, hard drives, memory cards, USB drives, and other incriminating materials from the suspects' residences.
This operation focused on the homes of sympathizers and over-ground workers (OGWs) linked to the banned terrorist group, as part of the NIA's investigation into case RC-16/2024/NIA/RPR.
These sympathizers/OGWs are believed to have provided shelter, support, and logistical aid to the armed militants of CPI (Maoist) implicated in the heinous murder of Birju Taram.
The BJP leader was killed with an INSAS rifle in October 2023. The NIA assumed control of the case on March 8, 2024. Since then, the agency has been actively dismantling the CPI (Maoist) terror network across the nation.
