Nirmala Sitharaman Aspires for Lakhpati Didi in Every Village Across the Nation

Patna, Dec 1 (NationPress) Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman stated her aspiration to have a Lakhpati Didi in each village throughout the nation, urging the public to benefit from the initiatives launched by the Central government.

During her two-day visit to Bihar, FM Sitharaman visited the Lalit Karpoori Stadium in Jhanjharpur, Madhubani district, as part of the Credit Outreach Programme.

At the event, loans amounting to Rs 1,021 crore were disbursed to foster employment, with beneficiaries receiving their funds through cheques.

In her speech, FM Sitharaman highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for transforming India into a developed nation, with a particular emphasis on Bihar's advancement through specific projects in Darbhanga and Madhubani.

"I encourage citizens to utilize government programs to boost self-reliance. Moreover, I would like to highlight the 'Lakhpati Didi' initiative designed to empower women in villages by providing financial support and training to Self Help Groups (SHGs). My goal is to see a Lakhpati Didi in every village across the country," stated FM Sitharaman.

Furthermore, she announced plans for an impressive temple dedicated to Lord Ram's wife Sita at her birthplace, similar to the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, describing it as a significant cultural commitment.

The outreach program also took place in Darbhanga on Friday, where financial assistance and employment-focused loans were distributed.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman expressed her happiness at the substantial turnout of women at the Credit Outreach Programme held at Lalit Karpoori Stadium.

She was accompanied by Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, alongside notable leaders such as Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Jha, Jhanjharpur Lok Sabha MP Rampreet Mandal, Madhubani MP Dr. Ashok Kumar Yadav, former minister and MLA Vinod Narayan Jha, MLC Ghanshyam Thakur, and MLA Sudhanshu Shekhar.

The programme, organized by the State Bank of India (SBI) in collaboration with various banks, included strong security measures led by SP Sushil Kumar.

FM Sitharaman also visited stalls featuring Mithila paintings by women, underscoring their artistic talents and entrepreneurial capabilities.

She praised the region's advancements after examining various exhibits, including one where a woman operated a heavy drone camera.

FM Sitharaman commended the woman, noting her skills as evidence of the empowerment initiatives reaching rural communities.

Upon her arrival, the Finance Minister received a warm welcome. She acknowledged the cultural richness and innovation flourishing in villages, emphasizing the positive effects of government programs on women and rural populations.

An official mentioned that the event reinforced the government's commitment to development, women's empowerment, and financial inclusion, showcasing the vibrant cultural and entrepreneurial spirit of Mithila.
