Key Takeaways
Patna, March 18 (NationPress) On the second day of the 'Samridhi Yatra', Bihar's Chief Minister Nitish Kumar visited the Jamui district where he laid the foundation stone and inaugurated a range of development initiatives valued at Rs 914 crore.
During this visit, the Chief Minister laid the foundation for 189 development projects worth Rs 312 crore and inaugurated 181 completed initiatives worth Rs 602 crore, dedicating these efforts to the district's residents.
Upon his arrival, he was warmly welcomed by senior leaders and party members at the helipad.
Among the notable projects, Kumar inaugurated the Kundghat Reservoir Project, where he inspected the site and directed officials for its efficient execution.
He also explored departmental stalls, interacted with beneficiaries, and distributed assistance cheques during the event.
Speaking to a large audience at the ‘Jan Samvad’ event, the Chief Minister reaffirmed his government’s dedication to the holistic development of Bihar, emphasizing its focus on underdeveloped areas like Jamui.
In a light-hearted moment during his address, CM Nitish Kumar observed the crowd's movement, humorously asking: “Ladies, why are you running away? Everything is being done for your sake. It was wonderful to see you all here -- surely you won’t leave just because I have started speaking?”
Several prominent political figures were present, including Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, and Cabinet Ministers Vijay Kumar Choudhary, Sanjay Kumar Singh, Shreyasi Singh, along with former minister Sumit Kumar Singh.
After his visit to Jamui, CM Nitish Kumar moved on to Nawada, continuing his outreach as part of the yatra.
In Nawada, he laid the groundwork for 21 schemes totaling Rs 244 crore and inaugurated 37 completed projects worth Rs 55 crore.
An amusing incident occurred during the Nawada event when the stage anchor mistakenly referred to Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary as the “Chief Minister.” As Choudhary began to speak, the anchor repeated the announcement, leading to a brief moment of laughter.
Choudhary responded with folded hands, before continuing with his address.
