Patna, May 31 (NationPress) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar officially inaugurated the groundwork for a cutting-edge Tibbi College Hospital located within the Nalanda Medical College Hospital (NMCH) premises in Patna City on Saturday. The new hospital is designed to feature a 200-bed Unani hospital distributed over five floors, an academic block to accommodate 150 students, an air-conditioned auditorium with a seating capacity of 500, as well as residential quarters for the principal, superintendent, doctors, and staff, along with hostel accommodations for students.
Construction is anticipated to wrap up by 2027, according to BMSICL engineers.
High-ranking officials from NMCH, including Principal Prof. Usha Kumari, Superintendent Prof. Rishm Prasad, and Deputy Superintendent Saroj Kumar, attended the groundbreaking ceremony.
At present, the Tibbi College Hospital operates from Kadamkuan. Its principal, Prof. Mahfoozur Rahman, expressed hope that the new facility will greatly improve both academic standards and healthcare services.
On the previous day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for multiple projects valued at ₹48,500 crore during a rally in Karakat. These initiatives included a thermal power plant in Navinagar, a six-lane expressway connecting Varanasi to Gaya and Kolkata, a four-lane national highway from Patna to Gaya, and the Bihta airport, among others.
PM Modi also highlighted the increased attention on Bihar's Makhana industry, which recently received a GI tag, benefiting numerous local farmers.
Additionally, he inaugurated the newly constructed terminal building at Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport in Patna on Thursday.
