Patna, May 3 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar, has officially opened a remarkable new 1050-bed facility at the Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH), representing a significant advancement in the state's healthcare framework this past Saturday.
This new extension comprises 65 ICUs, 10 deluxe rooms, 100 private rooms, and two suite rooms, all designed to enhance access to advanced medical care for the people of Bihar.
In attendance were Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Health Minister Mangal Pandey, and other esteemed health officials. During the ceremony, Nitish Kumar also introduced new OPD and emergency services in maternity, ophthalmology, and ENT departments.
Deputy CM Chaudhary stated, “This marks the largest expansion in PMCH’s history and signifies a tremendous achievement for Bihar's healthcare system,” while speaking to the media.
Officials highlighted that this new infrastructure is more than just an expansion; it is a crucial step toward evolving PMCH into an AI-enabled, smart medical hub.
In the upcoming months, the hospital is set to unveil super-specialty departments including cardiology, oncology, and neurology, alongside advanced labs, trauma centers, and multi-specialty operation theaters.
