Guwahati, Feb 21 (NationPress) Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated on Saturday that the Northeast, previously seen as a troubled area, is now enjoying peace and stability thanks to the diligent efforts of the BJP-led government at the national level.
During the 87th Raising Day celebrations of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Guwahati, HM Shah emphasized the invaluable role of the CRPF and other security forces in restoring tranquility in the region, an achievement he deemed historic and unmatched.

He highlighted that the 87th Raising Day celebrations marked a significant milestone, as it was the first time in the 86-year history of the CRPF that the event took place in Assam.
According to him, the decision to host the celebrations in the Northeast signifies the region’s transformation and its increasing significance in India's internal security landscape.
Furthermore, HM Shah mentioned that the BJP government has successfully restored peace in other conflict-ridden areas of the country.
He cited Jammu and Kashmir, noting that decisive policy actions and strong measures against terrorism have greatly enhanced security there.
Additionally, he remarked that Maoist activities in various regions have been effectively curtailed under the BJP administration.
Focusing on border security, HM Shah stated that continuous efforts are being made to maintain secure and peaceful borders for India.
He added that development and security go hand in hand, especially in border and sensitive areas.
The Home Minister asserted that newfound peace in the Northeast has paved the way for development, investment, and growth, enabling the region to progress towards prosperity.
