Bhubaneswar, June 3 (NationPress) Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi officially inaugurated and laid the groundwork for 15 development projects in the health and education sectors, amounting to nearly Rs 205 crore, in Deogarh district on Tuesday.
A standout feature was the opening of a newly built 300-bed district hospital, which significantly enhances the healthcare infrastructure in the area.
The initiatives comprise 11 healthcare-focused projects and four aimed at boosting educational infrastructure in the district.
In a notable announcement, the Chief Minister revealed a financial package of Rs 41.17 crore for Kendu leaf pluckers and binders across the state, benefiting around nine lakh seasonal workers.
Each leaf plucker will receive Rs 160 for slippers, Rs 200 for leaf-carrying cloth, and Rs 100 for caps.
Binders will also receive mosquito nets and blankets valued at Rs 700 each.
Speaking to the audience, CM Majhi stressed that Deogarh possesses vast developmental potential and that the government is dedicated to incorporating the district into Odisha's broader growth trajectory.
"Our main objective is to elevate Deogarh into a leading, developed district," he stated.
Emphasizing the government's commitment to balanced regional development, he remarked, "Since taking office, we have prioritized fair growth across all 30 districts. Our goal is to ensure that even the most marginalized individuals have access to essential services."
He reiterated the state's pledge to inclusive development through investments in education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, industry, and job creation.
"Only through comprehensive development can we achieve a prosperous Odisha by 2036 and a developed India by 2047," he asserted.
"Our administration is actively rolling out programs to guarantee that every citizen in Deogarh has access to clean drinking water, electricity, quality education, healthcare, and road connectivity," the CM added.
Reflecting on the government's achievements in its inaugural year, he noted, "With just nine days remaining until the completion of one year in office, we have already initiated numerous welfare and development programs for grassroots communities."
The event was also attended by Health Minister Dr Mukesh Mahaling, Deogarh MLA Romanch Ranjan Biswal, and various other dignitaries.
