Gurugram, April 6 (NationPress) On Sunday, the Gurugram Police initiated ‘Operation Akraman’ aimed at apprehending individuals involved in illicit activities such as drug and liquor smuggling.

A representative from the police indicated that throughout the operation, a total of 71 FIRs were filed, and 118 individuals were detained, which includes 48 proclaimed offenders, within the last 24 hours in the district.

This operation was executed under the directives of the DGP, Haryana.

He noted that 214 teams comprising 975 officers participated in the initiative, resulting in a significant number of apprehensions of criminals and suspects linked to various unlawful activities.

The police reported recovering illegal items over the past day, including 1013.5 bottles of country liquor, 150.25 bottles of English liquor, 98 bottles of beer, 478 grams of ganja, 9 grams of MDMA, a CNG auto rickshaw, a car, 10 iPhones, a laptop, and cash amounting to Rs 25,000 from the suspects.

Furthermore, the spokesperson mentioned that 14 challans were issued for vehicles with black films, 13 challans for mobile use while driving, and 189 challans for improper lane usage.

Additionally, two suspects were arrested in a murder case with a reward of Rs 20,000 each, along with two individuals for fraud, two for burglary, and three for vehicle theft, and two missing persons were located.

“The Gurugram Police consistently takes decisive measures by implementing special campaigns to tighten their grip on criminals and reduce crime rates. Such initiatives will persist in the future as well,” stated Vikas Kumar Arora, Commissioner of Gurugram Police.

He urged residents to adhere to the law and to report any criminal activity or information about criminals to the police without delay.
