Gurugram, April 10 (NationPress) A team from the crime branch of the Gurugram Police has apprehended three individuals involved in criminal activities along with illegal firearms from three separate locations in Gurugram, according to police reports.

An official stated that the authorities have seized three illicit pistols and seven live cartridges from the suspects.

As per police information, the operation aimed at tackling individuals possessing or trading illegal weapons resulted in the successful capture of three suspects.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Amay Pandey from Uttar Pradesh, Ritesh alias Nitin from Gurugram, and Saurabh alias Total, also from Gurugram.

“Amay was taken into custody by the CIA Sohna police team from the jurisdiction of Police Station City Sohna, with one country-made pistol. Ritesh was arrested by the Crime Branch Sector-10 team in Gurugram, found in possession of one illegal pistol and three live cartridges, while Saurabh was apprehended by the same team, also with one illegal pistol and four live cartridges,” a Gurugram Police spokesperson explained.

Authorities noted that three separate cases have been filed against the accused at their respective police stations, and the arrests were conducted in accordance with the law.

Furthermore, an official mentioned that investigations into the cases are ongoing.

Earlier on Sunday, the Gurugram Police executed ‘Operation Akraman’ targeting individuals engaging in various illegal activities, including drug and liquor trafficking.

A police representative disclosed that during the operation, 71 FIRs were filed, leading to the detention of 118 individuals, including 48 proclaimed offenders, within the last 24 hours in the district.

The spokesperson stated that these arrests were part of ‘Operation Akraman,’ executed under the orders of the DGP, Haryana.

He added that a total of 214 teams comprised of 975 officers were involved in this initiative.
