Gurugram, Feb 2 (NationPress) A specialized team from the Gurugram police has apprehended four individuals accused of attempting to carry out a robbery at gunpoint using illegal weapons, as reported by authorities on Sunday.

With this arrest, police also announced the resolution of 16 cases related to theft and violations of the Arms Act that the suspects had committed in Gurugram.

According to the police, the Crime Branch Sector-43 received reliable intelligence concerning four suspects armed with weapons who were attempting to rob individuals on the Ghata-Faridabad Road.

The police swiftly acted on this information, assembling a special team that reached the scene and successfully apprehended all four suspects while they were armed.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Sonu alias Chidimar from Delhi, Astonish alias Lablu, Ravi Prakash alias Chota Bhola, and Jeetu alias Pubji, all residing in Gurugram.

Authorities recovered a pistol, a live cartridge, an iron rod, and a torch from the suspects’ possession.

A case has been registered at the Sector-56 police station under relevant sections of the law.

During their interrogation, the suspects revealed they had committed 16 additional thefts in Gurugram.

According to police spokesperson Sandeep Kumar, a review of the suspects' criminal records indicated that Sonu was previously implicated in seven cases related to theft, the Gambling Act, and the Arms Act, while Astonish had three theft cases against him and Ravi Prakash had six theft-related cases.

The suspects will be presented in court for further legal action.

An investigation into this case is ongoing.

Recently, a team from the Gurugram police crime branch also captured two individuals for allegedly attempting to commit robbery at gunpoint using illegal weapons against passers-by on the Rewari-Heli Mandi Road.

These arrests reportedly resolved nine theft cases linked to these individuals in Gurugram and Rewari.

Additionally, Gurugram police apprehended three Bangladeshi nationals for residing illegally in the Manesar region without proper documentation.

This trio reportedly used counterfeit documents to enter the country and evade immigration protocols, according to police.

Authorities have stressed that landlords must conduct police verifications, and action will be taken against those renting to tenants without proper verification.
