Gurugram, May 7 (NationPress) - A specialized team from the Gurugram Police has apprehended three individuals armed with illegal weapons who were allegedly planning a robbery at gunpoint, according to police reports.
A senior police official stated that they received a tip-off about the suspects' intentions to rob pedestrians near Laser Valley Park, Gurugram.
The police acted swiftly, forming a specialized unit that conducted a raid in the area, leading to the arrest of the three suspects who were found in possession of weapons.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Roz Mohammad, Vishnu Sharma, and Anand Kumar, all hailing from Bihar.
During the operation, law enforcement recovered one pistol, one live cartridge, an iron rod, a knife, and a torch from the suspects. A formal case has been initiated against them at the DLF Sector-29 Police Station in Gurugram.
Furthermore, police interrogation revealed that the suspects had previously committed four other thefts in Gurugram.
Upon reviewing their criminal backgrounds, it was discovered that Roz Mohammad had 11 theft-related cases against him, along with one under the Arms Act in Faridabad, and another theft case in Gurugram. Anand Kumar has seven theft-related cases and an Arms Act case registered in Faridabad.
The suspects are set to be presented in court for further judicial proceedings, with an ongoing investigation into the matter.
In a separate incident, Gurugram Police have arrested another individual for mobile phone snatching.
An official shared that they received a complaint from a victim who reported that he was struck with a stone by two individuals on a bike near Bass Chowk Sector-7 IMT Manesar, Gurugram, who then stole his mobile phone.
A case was subsequently registered in the Sector-7 IMT Manesar Police Station. Following the investigation, a police team successfully apprehended the suspect on Wednesday in Sector-8, IMT Manesar.
The suspect has been identified as Harun, who resides in Karenda village in Alwar, Rajasthan.
The accused will be brought before the court and placed under police custody for further questioning and recovery efforts, with ongoing legal actions being pursued by the police team.
