Gurugram, Feb 10 (NationPress) The police in Gurugram have apprehended three individuals suspected of robbing a cab driver at gunpoint, taking both his vehicle and mobile phone. This incident involved a driver who had booked a cab in Gurugram, according to police reports.
The suspects have been named as Deepak, Rahul, and Suraj Kumar, all residents of Ashok Vihar Phase-3, Gurugram.
The robbery transpired in the Ashok Vihar locality when the accused booked the victim's Rapido car on February 6.
The victim lodged a complaint against the trio on February 7 at the Rajendra Park Police Station. He informed the authorities that the accused had requested his vehicle from Ashok Vihar Phase-3, Gurugram.
Upon arrival near Paras Society in Sector-106, Gurugram, the victim asked the suspects to exit the vehicle.
Instead, the suspects wrapped a rope around his neck, rendered him unconscious using a weapon, and assaulted him before fleeing with his car, phone, and other belongings, police stated.
Following his complaint, a case was filed under appropriate legal provisions at the Rajendra Park Police Station in Gurugram.
During the investigation, a Crime Branch team from Sector-39 of the Gurugram police arrested all three suspects on Sunday along NH 48 near Sector-15, Gurugram.
Upon reviewing the criminal history of the suspects, it was discovered that Suraj had a prior case registered against him for robbery in Gurugram.
The police managed to recover the victim's car and mobile phone from the suspects' possession.
“The accused will be presented in court for further questioning and potential recovery. They will be placed in police custody. The investigation is ongoing,” stated the police.
Additionally, the Gurugram Police apprehended two other criminals who were found with illegal firearms. The individuals were identified as Rahul, a resident of Farrukhnagar, and Nikhil from Uttar Pradesh.
The police confiscated two illegal pistols and one live cartridge from these suspects.
A legal case has been initiated against them at the corresponding police stations.
