Gurugram, Feb 16 (NationPress) A team from the Crime Branch of the Gurugram police has apprehended five individuals involved in theft from various locations within the city, as reported on Sunday.
The suspects have been identified as Sajid, Zaheer Abbas, and Zakir, all hailing from Kiranki village in Gurugram; Rakesh Kumar from Khagaria, Bihar; and Deepak from Palwal, Haryana.
The Sohna Crime Branch apprehended Sajid, Zaheer Abbas, and Zakir on the Sohna-Palwal Road, Gurugram, during an investigation into the theft of an inverter and a battery reported at the Sadar police station in Sohna.
In another incident, the Crime Branch in Sector-43 arrested Rakesh at Laser Valley Ground in Sector-29 concerning the theft of a mobile phone from the jurisdiction of Sushant Lok police station. Meanwhile, Deepak was captured by the Farukhnagar Crime Branch in Todapur village for the theft of jewelry linked to the Pataudi police station.
During the interrogation, Rakesh Kumar disclosed involvement in an additional theft incident in Gurugram.
Examination of the suspects' criminal records revealed that Sajid has previously been charged with theft in Gurugram, while Deepak has three theft cases registered against him in Palwal.
The police recovered an inverter, a battery, two mobile phones, and cash from the suspects’ possession.
Furthermore, Gurugram police detained two individuals on robbery charges and seized 14 boxes of metal sheets valued at ₹18 lakh along with a truck.
The police received a complaint on February 2 at the Sector-7 IMT Manesar police station, where the complainant reported that on the night of February 11-12, he had parked his truck carrying 13 tonnes of metal sheets near Satyam Auto Company to take a water break.
During this time, an individual attempted to steal his truck, and when confronted, other accomplices arrived, took him hostage, and subsequently robbed his truck along with the contents.
A case was filed based on this complaint at Sector-7 IMT Manesar police station.
While interrogating suspects, the crime branch in Farukhnagar arrested Tarun and Kulwinder Singh from Bypass Road on Saturday.
These individuals, originally from Punjab, confessed to committing two thefts and one robbery in Gurugram.
Records indicated that Tarun has faced two charges in Jhajjar for murder and theft, as well as two theft and robbery cases in Gurugram and two additional cases in Faridabad.
The police have successfully recovered 14 boxes of metal sheets worth ₹18 lakh and a truck from the suspects, according to reports.
