Gurugram, April 21 (NationPress) The police in Gurugram have apprehended three habitual offenders from Uttarakhand for stealing gold valuables from a woman by distracting her, officials reported on Sunday.
The suspects were recognized as Khurshid from Uttar Pradesh, and Saifuddin and Shahzad from Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand.
A crime branch team in Sector-43 captured Khurshid on April 15 in Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand.
He was placed under police custody for six days, and based on his revelations, the other two suspects were taken into custody on Sunday from the same location.
According to Sandeep Kumar, a spokesperson for Gurugram police, "The suspects are known for their repeated offenses and have been involved in numerous similar cases across Gurugram, Rewari, Rajasthan, and Mumbai. The Rewari police have also announced a reward of Rs 5,000 for Saifuddin in connection with a theft case."
As per police reports, on April 7, a woman approached a police station to report that while she was walking on Baluda Road, she encountered an individual who claimed to be a devotee of God and offered to relieve her of her troubles.
During this interaction, another person joined them.
The woman ended up giving her jewelry to these individuals.
Following their instructions, she went to collect leaves from nearby trees; upon her return, the suspects had vanished, police stated.
During interrogation, Saifuddin admitted to committing theft in Rajasthan and a fraud incident in Rewari.
He has been declared a person of interest in both cases, with a reward of Rs 5,000 offered for information regarding him.
Shahzad and Khurshid have also confessed to committing fraud in Mumbai.
The interrogation revealed that these suspects used hypnosis techniques by posing as devotees to deceive their victims.
According to the police, records indicate that three cases are filed against Saifuddin in Uttarakhand for various offenses, including assault, threats to kill, robbery, and violations of the Arms Act. Shahzad has also been charged in Uttarakhand for assault and threatening behavior.
The police recovered two motorcycles and Rs 12,500, which were allegedly used in these crimes, from the suspects’ possession.
