Hyderabad, Aug 8 (NationPress) AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi expressed his hope on Friday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would choose to align with the course of history by refraining from seeking counsel from his Israeli counterpart, Benjamin Netanyahu, whom he labeled a 'war criminal' and 'genocidaire', particularly in matters concerning US President Donald Trump.
Owaisi's remarks came in response to Netanyahu's claim that he could offer Modi some insights on managing relations with Trump.
“India is not in a state of misfortune where its Prime Minister must rely on the advice of a war criminal and genocidaire with an outstanding warrant from the ICC,” Owaisi stated via social media platform X.
He noted, “Netanyahu is accountable for the deaths of 65,000 Palestinians in Gaza, including 20,000 children, while 1.2 million have been displaced. Furthermore, around 2,000 UN personnel have lost their lives, and Israel has received two adverse rulings from the ICJ.”
Owaisi expressed his desire for Modi to take a principled stand and avoid becoming a passive player in this scenario.
In light of the escalating tensions between the US and India over the 50% tariff imposed by the former, Netanyahu indicated his willingness to share advice with Modi regarding Trump, albeit in a private setting, as both leaders are his “terrific” friends.
“PM Modi and Trump are both terrific friends of mine. I would provide PM Modi some advice on dealing with Trump, but privately,” the Israeli Prime Minister shared with the press.
He also expressed a desire to visit India “soon” and characterized the foundation of the US-India relationship as “very solid,” encouraging both nations to resolve their tariff disputes.
“The foundation of this relationship is strong. It is in the best interest of both India and the US to find common ground and address the tariff issue. Such a resolution would also benefit Israel, as both countries are our friends,” Netanyahu concluded.
