Hyderabad, Aug 12 (NationPress) The president of AIMIM, Asaduddin Owaisi, strongly criticized the recent threats made by Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir against India, urging the Modi administration to bring this matter to the attention of the United States.
Owaisi expressed his concerns on the social media platform ‘X’, articulating his disapproval of Munir's remarks.
He stated, “The threats and language used by the Pakistan Army Chief towards India are absolutely condemnable. The fact that he made these statements on US soil exacerbates the situation. It requires a political response from the Modi government, not just a statement from the MEA. The government must formally protest and raise this issue with the US,” Owaisi posted.
He further emphasized, “As a strategic partner, India cannot accept this misuse of American territory. Given Pakistan's military intentions, we need to enhance our defense capabilities. The insufficient budget for defense by the Modi government is no longer sustainable. We must be adequately prepared.”
Asim Munir made these threats during a private dinner held with the Pakistani community in Tampa, Florida on Saturday, where he reportedly stated, “We are a nuclear nation. If we feel threatened, we’ll take half the world down with us,” as relayed by media sources.
In response to Munir's provocative statements, India clarified its stance, asserting that it will not succumb to nuclear intimidation. The Ministry of External Affairs stated that India would take all necessary measures to protect its national security.
“We have noted remarks allegedly made by the Pakistani Chief of Army Staff during his visit to the United States. Nuclear saber-rattling is a common tactic from Pakistan. The international community can draw its own conclusions regarding the recklessness of such statements, which further raise doubts about the integrity of nuclear command and control in a state where the military collaborates with terrorist groups,” said MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal in a statement.
