Hyderabad, March 6 (NationPress) AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi on Friday called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take action to halt the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, emphasizing that India will face repercussions from any further escalation.

The MP from Hyderabad warned that if the situation deteriorates, it could adversely affect one crore Indian workers in the Gulf region.

"Prime Minister, it's time to speak up and put an end to this conflict. The United States may remain unscathed, but it is India that will suffer consequences," Owaisi stated during his address at Jalsa-e-Youm-ul-Qur’an at Masjid-e-Quba.

He pointed out that over one crore Indians are employed in Gulf nations and that escalating hostilities could lead to job losses.

The MP highlighted that after the US, India derives a significant portion of its foreign exchange from these countries, and any further escalation could result in substantial economic losses.

Owaisi noted that many Indians working in the Gulf are feeling anxious and concerned. He shared that children from Bahrain had reached out to him, expressing their fears.

He urged for an immediate cessation of the attacks led by Israel and the US on Iran, warning that without unity, cities like Ankara, Istanbul, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Kuwait might face destruction similar to that of Gaza. "Israel's ambition is to create a Greater Israel, which entails controlling a significant portion of Arab territories," he remarked.

The AIMIM leader criticized the Modi administration for its silence regarding a recent statement from the United States permitting India to purchase oil from Russia for only a month.

"Who are they to dictate our oil purchases for just a month? Have we compromised India's autonomy to the United States?" he strongly questioned in response to US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent’s comments.

"Is this the essence of our nation's sovereignty? How can an American official tell a nation of 1.3 billion that it can only buy oil for a month? If the BJP and RSS truly care for India, they must vehemently oppose this and assert India's right to purchase oil from any source it chooses," Owaisi asserted.

The MP also urged BJP leaders to reconsider their ongoing campaign of animosity against Muslims and to recognize the genuine threats facing the nation. "Awaken to the reality, or you will suffer the repercussions. These calamities are approaching, yet you treat the United States as an ally. Once this war concludes, you will realize that the primary beneficiaries will be the arms dealers," he concluded.
