Amaravati, April 16 (NationPress) The Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan, has offered his heartfelt congratulations to Nara Lokesh on his recent appointment as the national working president of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).

In his statement released on Thursday, the leader of Jana Sena expressed his hopes that Lokesh, who previously held the position of national general secretary for TDP, will excel in his new role. Kalyan emphasized the importance of maintaining the spirit of coalition.

Additionally, Pawan Kalyan extended congratulations to Palla Srinivas Rao for securing another term as TDP's state president.

In response, Lokesh expressed gratitude towards Pawan Kalyan for his warm wishes. He stated, “With your blessings and in alignment with your aspirations, the spirit of alliance will flourish even more harmoniously, emphasizing coordination for the progress and welfare of our state. I will strive to meet the expectations you have set for me as your brother. Thank you sincerely for the affection you have shown me as a brother,” Lokesh shared on ‘X’.

Lokesh, the son of Chief Minister and TDP national working president N. Chandrababu Naidu, was appointed to this significant role on Wednesday.

This marks a historic moment for TDP, as it is the first instance where a national working president has been appointed.

Lokesh serves as a minister in the Cabinet led by Naidu, overseeing the portfolios of human resources development, information technology, and electronics.

Widely regarded as the heir apparent to Chandrababu Naidu, Lokesh's elevation to working president solidifies the perception that he is being groomed as the political successor to Naidu, who will celebrate his 76th birthday on April 20.

This appointment comes nearly two years after TDP, alongside its ally National Democratic Alliance (NDA), achieved a resounding electoral victory.

Expressing his feelings regarding the new role, Lokesh stated that he felt ‘deeply honored’.

“I am thankful to our party cadre, whose steadfast belief has been instrumental in my journey, and to our esteemed leader Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu garu for his unwavering guidance and trust,” Lokesh conveyed on ‘X’.

“Transitioning from a karyakarta to this responsibility has been a learning experience built upon your support, struggles, and sacrifices. I am committed to our party's ideals and to the people of Andhra Pradesh, and I will dedicate myself to strengthening our movement and serving our state with integrity, dedication, and purpose. This role is not merely a position but a lifelong commitment,” he concluded.
