Prior to his visit to Raj Ghat, the South Korean leader received a ceremonial welcome at the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Upon his arrival, President Droupadi Murmu and PM Modi extended a warm welcome to President Lee Jae Myung.
Children dressed in traditional attire, proudly holding the South Korean national flag alongside the Tricolour, greeted the visiting dignitary.
President Lee Jae Myung arrived in New Delhi on Sunday for a significant three-day state visit.
Union Minister of State for Corporate Affairs, Harsh Malhotra, was present to receive President Lee and First Lady Kim Hea Kyung at the airport.
The MEA highlighted that the visit of the South Korean President marks a crucial step in enhancing the Special Strategic Partnership between the two countries.
EAM S. Jaishankar also met with the visiting President on Sunday.
"I am honored to meet with President Lee Jae Myung of the Republic of Korea as he commences his State Visit to India. I value his dedication to strengthening India-South Korea relations across various sectors," EAM Jaishankar noted on X, expressing optimism that his discussions with PM Modi would further reinforce their Special Strategic Partnership.
Later, PM Modi is set to host a luncheon in honor of the visiting leader.
President Lee will also hold discussions with President Murmu, who will arrange a banquet in his honor at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The MEA emphasized, "India and the ROK maintain a multi-dimensional partnership rooted in ancient civilizational connections and shared democratic values. President Lee's visit reflects our mutual aspiration to bolster existing cooperation while exploring new avenues of collaboration in areas of shared interest."
