Patna, Feb 14 (NationPress) As Prime Minister Narendra Modi prepares for his upcoming visit to Bihar's Bhagalpur, the state's Urban Development Minister, Nitin Nabin, has announced that the Prime Minister will reveal development initiatives valued at over Rs 2,000 crore for the area.
Nabin indicated that a large assembly is anticipated at the Kisan Sabha planned for February 24, where PM Modi is set to disclose various welfare programs from the stage.
The Minister pointed out that this visit follows the unveiling of the Union Budget 2025-26, which has allocated substantial funds for the development of Bihar.
He mentioned that preparations for the Kisan Sabha event are in full gear, following a collaborative meeting of the NDA.
"The entire municipal corporation is making special arrangements to welcome the Prime Minister. Invitation letters will be distributed door-to-door, and events will be organized at strategic locations to enhance public enthusiasm," Nabin stated during his visit to Bhagalpur on Thursday.
Numerous senior BJP leaders are also anticipated to visit Bhagalpur in preparation for this significant occasion.
Nabin further underscored that Bihar has received a special gift in this year's Budget, highlighting the government's dedication to the state's progress.
PM Modi's visit is expected to mark a crucial political and developmental milestone for Bihar, especially with the upcoming Assembly elections approaching.
Nirmala Sitharaman, the Union Finance Minister, during her Budget presentation, announced the establishment of the Makhana board and the marketing of Makhana (Fox nuts), the enhancement of IIT Patna by improving its infrastructure and academic programs to encourage higher education and research, the creation of the National Food Technology Institute in Bihar, and a dedicated budget for the development of the Western Kosi Canal to improve irrigation facilities and benefit the agricultural sector. Upgrades to Bihta airport have also been proposed to enhance regional connectivity and support economic growth.
Additionally, Sitharaman highlighted the expansion of Patna Airport to accommodate increased passenger traffic and improve infrastructure, alongside the construction of three new Greenfield airports in Bihar to enhance air connectivity and foster regional development.
