PM Modi to Unveil and Initiate Projects Worth Over Rs 19,800 Crore in Gujarat

Vav-Tharad (Gujarat), March 30 (NationPress) On March 31, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate and lay the groundwork for an array of development initiatives totaling Rs 19,806.9 crore during his visit to Gujarat. These investments will encompass sectors such as renewable energy, transportation, railways, and urban infrastructure.
The event, taking place in Vav-Tharad, will highlight projects from both the Central and state governments.
In attendance will be Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi, alongside senior officials.
Of the total investment, projects amounting to Rs 10,921 crore are under the purview of the Union Ministries of Energy, Road Transport and Highways, and Railways. This includes three energy initiatives associated with the hybrid renewable energy park currently being developed in Khavda, Kutch district, with a cumulative investment of Rs 3,645 crore.
Officials have stated that these projects are designed to “facilitate the effective integration of thousands of megawatts of renewable energy into the national grid,” aiming to enhance green energy capacity and bolster energy security.
In the domain of roads and highways, foundation stones will be laid for the Idar-Badoli four-lane bypass project, projected to cost Rs 705 crore, and the Dholavira-Mauvana-Vauva-Santalpur section, estimated at Rs 575 crore.
Additionally, the Prime Minister will inaugurate four packages of the Ahmedabad-Dholera project, which include Package 1 (Rs 1,298 crore), Package 2 (Rs 1,415 crore), Package 3 (Rs 1,034 crore), and Package 4 (Rs 1,358 crore).
Railway projects valued at Rs 891 crore will also be inaugurated, which include the Himmatnagar-Khedbrahma broad gauge line, enhancements between Gandhidham and Adipur, and the doubling of the Kanalus-Jamnagar section as part of the Rajkot-Kanalus initiative.
A new train service connecting Khedbrahma, Himmatnagar, and Asarva will also be launched.
Officials noted that “development projects worth Rs 10,921 crore from these three ministries will be inaugurated and initiated.”
Meanwhile, initiatives totaling Rs 8,886 crore will fall under various state government departments, including urban development, water resources, water supply, roads and buildings, GIDC, health and family welfare, tourism, tribal development, and rural development.
The urban development department represents the largest allocation, with projects worth Rs 5,295.5 crore, primarily focused on Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar.
In Ahmedabad, the initiatives include development of the Kharicut canal, modernization of BRTS and AMTS bus services, construction of a new four-lane bridge to replace the existing Subhash Bridge, provision of housing for economically weaker sections, and civic infrastructure projects like a sports complex and an auditorium.
In Gandhinagar, projects will consist of housing for economically weaker sections, laying an 1800 mm sewer trunk line using a mix of open excavation and microtunneling from the national highway to Adalaj TSPS, building a 15 MLD sewage treatment plant at Pethapur, and interlinking four lakes with associated stormwater works at Randheja.
Furthermore, under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin), the Prime Minister will facilitate house entry for 38,949 beneficiaries across 34 districts in Gujarat, enabling rural families to occupy newly completed homes.
