How is PMAY Restoring Dignity to the Poor? Union Minister Shivraj Chouhan Leads Housing Drive in Ambikapur, Chhattisgarh

Ambikapur (Chhattisgarh), May 13 (NationPress) Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday took part in the ‘Mor Awas Mor Adhikar’ initiative in Ambikapur, Chhattisgarh.

During this significant event, 51,000 beneficiaries across the state were awarded permanent homes under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). The happiness and relief were unmistakable on the faces of families who finally received their long-desired homes. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai was also in attendance.

While speaking to the crowd, Chouhan strongly criticized the previous Congress-led government, claiming that they had obstructed the execution of PMAY, thus depriving the underprivileged of their due rights. "The failures and anti-poor policies of the Congress are precisely why they lost the election," Chouhan stated.

"Today, under our administration, we are realizing the dreams of the impoverished. Those who previously lacked stable housing are now becoming homeowners. We will speed up the construction of additional houses in the days ahead," he continued.

Chouhan lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary approach and his dedication to the welfare of the underprivileged. "PM Modi’s aim is to ensure that no citizen lives without a permanent home, and our government is committed to achieving that objective," he remarked. The agriculture minister also highlighted the importance of judicious fertilizer use, warning that overuse not only harms the soil but also adversely affects farmers in the long term. He revealed that agricultural scientists are being dispatched to educate farmers on sustainable farming practices. Furthermore, the minister indicated that the government is contemplating new legislation to combat the rising issue of counterfeit seeds, which threaten crop quality and the livelihoods of farmers.

Beneficiaries expressed their gratitude and shared heartfelt stories. Mehruram, one of the recipients, remarked, "We used to reside in a thatched hut and faced numerous challenges during the monsoon. Thanks to PM Modi’s initiative, we now have a permanent home. The government has shown concern for people like us. I am incredibly grateful today and sincerely thank PM Modi."

Another beneficiary, Kalu, shared, "We were compelled to live in slums. Life was exceptionally challenging. However, the Modi government has provided us with a dignified existence by offering a pucca house. My family and I are ecstatic. I will forever be thankful for this housing scheme. PMAY has not only given us shelter but has also restored our dignity, enabling us to live with respect."
