Kolkata, June 11 (NationPress) Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir is destined to become a vital part of India during Narendra Modi's tenure as Prime Minister, stated Union Minister of State for Coal and Mines Satish Chandra Dubey in Asansol, located in the West Burdwan district of West Bengal, on Wednesday.
His remarks were in response to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's comments made in the West Bengal Assembly the previous day, where she noted that Operation Sindoor, the operation that saw the Indian Armed Forces dismantling several terrorist bases both in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir and Pakistan last month, has given India a significant chance to reclaim this territory.
“The Chief Minister suggested that we have an opportunity to reintegrate Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir into India. We assert that if it were the era of the previous UPA government, ensuring the safety of our citizens and troops would have been challenging. I urge the Chief Minister to exercise patience. As long as Narendra Modi is in power, no one will prevent Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir from becoming a fundamental part of India,” Dubey expressed during a media interaction in Asansol.
In light of the upcoming critical Assembly elections in West Bengal next year, Dubey remarked that just as the BJP secured power in Delhi and Maharashtra, they too will govern West Bengal next year.
Additionally, he criticized the West Bengal government for not providing adequate support to the Union government for the rehabilitation of individuals affected by frequent landslides in Asansol and the surrounding coal region in West Burdwan district.
“The delays in rehabilitation are due to the state government's reluctance. Coal India Limited has allocated sufficient funds for this purpose, which the state administration has yet to utilize,” he claimed.
