Patna, July 18 (NationPress) Poll strategist and Jan Suraaj Party leader Prashant Kishor experienced a significant ribcage injury during a road march in Bihar's Arrah on Friday, as confirmed by party officials.
Kishor was taken to Shanti Memorial Hospital in Arrah, where his condition is being closely monitored by medical professionals.
He had arrived in Arrah to speak at the Bihar Badlaav Sabha held at Veer Kunwar Singh Stadium in Bhojpur district.
Prior to the event, Kishor led a three-kilometer road march (padyatra) through the city, attracting a large crowd of supporters.
While engaging with the supporters from his SUV, a surge of people caused the vehicle's door to slam shut, resulting in his ribcage injury.
Despite the pain, Kishor continued to the stage, but his condition worsened as he experienced severe chest pain.
Following the incident, former Purnea MP Uday Singh and other Jan Suraj members quickly transported Kishor to Shanti Memorial Hospital, where Dr. Vijay Gupta confirmed he had a chest injury.
"A CT scan was performed, revealing a ribcage injury. He has been advised to rest for 48 hours," Gupta stated.
Currently, Kishor's condition is stable, but he remains under careful medical supervision.
A State Jan Suraaj Coordinator mentioned that if necessary, Kishor could be sent to Delhi for more advanced treatment.
After initial treatment in Arrah, the Jan Suraaj Chief is being moved to Patna for further medical assistance.
Outside Shanti Memorial Hospital, numerous Jan Suraaj supporters gathered to wish Kishor a swift recovery.
This incident led to disruptions at the meeting venue, forcing the cancellation of planned public interactions.
Kishor is currently en route to Patna, where he will receive additional medical examinations.
Earlier on Friday, Bhojpuri actor and singer Ritesh Pandey, along with former Additional Director General of Himachal cadre Jaiprakash Singh, joined the Jan Suraaj Party.
Both were on stage when Kishor first reported chest pain due to his injury.
