Chandigarh, June 4 (NationPress) Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann expressed his concern on Wednesday regarding the troubling situation in the nation, where any viewpoint that diverges from the BJP's narrative is now being branded as anti-national.
While speaking to the media, the Chief Minister pointed out the irony of Union Minister of State Ravneet Singh Bittu contradicting his position on Operation Sindoor by claiming he is voicing sentiments from Pakistan.
He criticized Bittu for making such irrational comments, especially when his leaders in Delhi have been making hypothetical and unfounded statements.
Mann highlighted that Bittu seems to have forgotten that his party has reversed its decision to distribute Sindoor to every household. The Chief Minister emphasized that such attitudes are not only unwarranted but also detrimental to the nation.
He remarked that, for the first time in history, a government is dispatching representatives worldwide to proclaim its victory in a war.
Mann asserted that there is no need for external validation of victory, as it speaks for itself. When asked about the arrest of a YouTuber from the state, the Chief Minister explained that the Union government oversees social media regulation in the country.
However, he affirmed that if law enforcement agencies in the state detect any anti-national activities, appropriate action will be executed according to the law.
Mann firmly stated that anyone committing a crime against the nation will not be spared, and strict measures will be taken against them.
In response to Mann's comments on Operation Sindoor, BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh urged Mann to cease his mimicry as a Chief Minister to undermine the operation.
Chugh remarked that since the operation involves widows victimized by a Pakistan ISI plot, CM Mann is disrespecting women with his offensive remarks.
Chugh described Mann's comments as shameful and vulgar, reflecting a deeply flawed mindset.
He added that such statements insult the dignity of women and trivialize the emotional trauma of widows who lost their husbands in the Pahalgam terror attack.
